Misty Morning Goodness

Originally I had set out with the intention of giving my new Nikon Z24-120 F4s lens a really good try out. The early morning conditions in my local woodland were ideal with a covering of mist and fog and I was pumped to be getting out in such conditions… Being located where I am fog & mist is a bit of an uncommon phenomemon and so when it does occur, I tend to drop everything and head for the hills!

The irony of course, is that I spent more time with the Leica M10-P & Summicron 35mm f2 in hand than I did trying out the new lens!

Leica M10-P for landscape photography

For some reason, the M10-P & Summicron 35mm offer an almost perfect blend of size, weight and haptics for me, it works well both in hand and on a tripod and the danger is whenever I’m out and have the M10-P riding shotgun to something else, I inevitably end up taking more photographs with the Leica than anything else.

Of course, it can’t compete with the Z7/24-120 combination for everything but on this specific occasion the additional length from 35mm through to 120mm was rarely needed to record the best of what I was seeing.

Here’s a few images from the morning, all shot on the Leica and processed in Lightroom.

And what of the Z 24-120mm f4?

Well first impressions are more than favourable. The additional range from the 24-70 I had been using are plain to see and in time will no doubt be of use…
